The Road that leads to Light! Clean Monday!

Well…we are off! Today begins the journey to Pascha! This weekend I heard a beautiful reflection by an Orthodox priest that gave me such hope and inspiration. We have, perhaps, heard the imagery of our Christian life being likened to a wheel. We are each a spoke on the wheel and Christ is in its center. As we draw near to Christ, we also move closer to one another. Here is another way to look at ourselves as community: Since we are members of Christ’s body (and therefore part of one another), if we are not in attendance at church, the body is missing one of its parts and is deprived also of the gifts that each member brings. We are vital to the Body Christ!

May this season of Lenten Spring give you strength to sojourn towards Christ’s resurrection. May we be encouraged to attend the blessed Lenten Services through which the Church intends to fortify and nourish us. May we bring our gifts to the holy feet of Jesus that He may transform them during this journey…that we may offer ourselves back to the world illumined and full of the unsurpassing joy which only this road can give as a reward for our travels!
